For starters, "four" is French for "oven." And here, in the 175-year-old Chesterfield Inn, our wood-fired oven is the heart and soul of our restaurant. Trends come and go, but people have been cooking with wood ovens for thousands of years. That's a lot of history and a lot of time to get it right. The intense heat and subtle smokiness imparts flavors like no other appliance, and brings us back to a simpler time when quality was more important than convenience.
Four...a perfect symbol for our restaurant, an appreciative nod to time-honored tradition, and one more sign that the past is alive and well here in Mineral Point.
